Now that the major difficulties are over, the best line follows the exposed crest as closely as possible. This can become a little too exciting during windy conditions, although numerous spike belays are available if required.

The arête finally falls back into the Gribin Ridge at the large grass shoulder below its final rock nose. Continue as for Route 38.

Descents and combinations

A descent of Route 38 is the fastest means of returning to Ogwen Cottage, although the summit of Glyder Fawr will beckon most. A descent of Seniors’ Ridge (Route 42) and Seniors’ Gully (Route 43) maintains interest back to Lyn Idwal. Maybe Tower Rib (Route 41) can also be added to the itinerary by the indefatigable.
